George Shelley is a 22-year-old member of the popular British boy band “Union J“. In a personal video on YouTube, he decided it was time to open up about his sexuality.
Shelley joined the band during the 9th season of the British version of “The X Factor“. He also recently starred in a reality series called “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!“, which is sort of a VIP version of Survivor. Now, he’s ready to come out of the closet as a bisexual.
“I’ve been reading a lot of speculation online as to whether I’m straight, or gay, or bi”, Shelley says in his video, “and all these labels are a little bit old-fashioned, which is why I’m not going to label it myself”
And he adds:
“I’ve had girlfriends that I’ve loved, and they’ve been amazing periods of my life, but I’ve also had boyfriends, and I just want you to know that whether I decide to be with a girl next, or be with a guy next, that it’s because I love them, and it shouldn’t be a big deal.
“I’ve not changed, I’m still me, I’m still the same person I’ve always been, I’m just becoming a bit less scared of being myself, and that makes me quite happy.”
