Gay, straight, bisexual… there are all sorts of labels, but can you be everything at once? That is – have a (gay) boyfriend, AND get ready to marry a (straight) woman at the same time?
That’s what happened to this guy on Reddit, whose boyfriend announced one day, out of the blue, that he’s getting married. To a woman. But he still wants the boyfriend…
“So yesterday”, the guy writes, “my boyfriend informed me that he’s getting engaged to some girl his mum’s about to meet.”
And it gets even more complicated:
“He says he’s been planning to marry her for a while now and this means he’s going to “become” straight or whatever.
This, obviously, upsets me greatly. He says he loves me but he absolutely has to get married and then asked me to stay with him till he goes off to marry her.
I’m just so sad and confused and hurt right now. Part of me wants to just block him and stop seeing him. Part of me is willing to stick around as long as possible.
He claims we’ll always be friends or whatever but I know we won’t and I’m not sure I want to be anyway.”
This commenter pretty much summed up all the rest:
